Whatever it is you're quitting
Smoking, vaping, alcohol, porn or social media: pick a goal from the list or name your own. Each goal has its own counter. Tracking a habit does not constitute an addiction diagnosis.
If you are dependent on alcohol or take benzodiazepines, seek medical advice before stopping: abrupt withdrawal can be dangerous. NHS sources: alcohol · benzodiazepines.
Your goal, your otter, your daily check-in.
Meet your otter
Name it, and it's yours. Its mood follows how you're doing — and it's the first thing you see when you open the app. That's the whole trick: you don't come back for a chart, you come back for someone.
Add what you're quitting
Pick from the list or type your own. Each one keeps its own count of clean days and its own record, so quitting two things at once doesn't mean losing both when one slips.
One check-in a day
How was today, and how do you feel? Your otter celebrates with you, or comes over to comfort you. Its mood bar never drops because you had an honest bad day — which is exactly why answering honestly is safe.
When the urge hits, breathe
Open a breathing exercise and follow the rhythm on screen. You can also choose from 14 free mini-games or record an urge in your journal. These tracking tools are not a treatment.
See what you're getting back
Enter what your habit costs in money or time. Loutra calculates estimates from your inputs and tracked days, then shows projections. These are personal estimates, not a promise of savings.
Slip up? No shame here.
The counter for the affected goal restarts from the relapse date. Other goals and your history stay. Savings estimates subtract one day for a day with a relapse, without falling below zero. You can resume tracking without judgment.
You were honest and you came back. That's the part that counts.
Quietly on your side
Works without an account
You can track your goals without creating an account. An optional account enables backup and social features. AI chat sends your conversations to a remote service; exchanges are stored for 90 days. See the privacy policy for details. Privacy.
No ads, nothing sold
Loutra makes money from an optional subscription, not from you. No advertising, and no cross-app tracking of any kind.
Not a doctor, and says so
Loutra is a companion, not treatment. It carries no medical claims, and it points you to real helplines when that's what you need.

Quitting, explained honestly
Short pieces about the practical side of quitting. Every health statement carries the source it came from — the NHS, the HSE, or a peer-reviewed paper.
How long does a nicotine craving last?
One urge and weeks of withdrawal are different experiences. Understand the HSE’s time estimates, their limits and what you can prepare for the next craving.
